Taking Action with CPR

CPR or cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a combination of mouth-to-mouth breathing and chest compressions delivered to victims of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). When SCA occurs, the heart stops pumping blood. CPR can help keep the victim alive by keeping a small amount of blood flowing to the heart and brain until defibrillation can be provided.
